RTÉ: England’s Irish Captain

When Eoin Morgan lifted the Cricket World Cup trophy in 2019, it wasn’t just a historic moment for England, it was a proud one for Ireland too. Born and raised in Dublin, Morgan made headlines as the Irishman who led England to their first-ever World Cup win in cricket.

So how did an Irishman end up captaining England’s national team? We created a story of ambition, reinvention, and breaking boundaries from his upbringing in Ireland to his retirement as a cricketing legend.

The documentary was commissioned by RTÉ and was aired after the Olympics to RTÉ’s biggest audience of the year.
